Puppycam

So besides digital farming my other ruinous addiction is the Cedar Creek Cavaliers Puppycam.

We've been hoping to get a little companion for our beloved Beatrice even from the moment we brought her home but with all the travel and moving and hyperflux in our lives in the last year the opportunity never really presented. But we are starting to settle into the island routine and it seems like a good time to get another little fellow in our lives. So maybe after the new year? Well, we're all queued up to get one of these guys in the cage..

It's been great being on Bainbridge because Bea's family is right up the road in Poulsbo at Trudy and Jim's farm. And this is how they roll at Rancho Triple C -- heating pads, designer drinking bowls, and puppycams. Only the best! Trudy has a pretty awesome operation and we are very happy to have her nearby -- Bea stays there pretty frequently when we travel, so it's hard to think about going anywhere else for puppy vNext (codename: Dante).

I grew up with a wonderful Newfoundland/Lab named Dinah, and then later with a couple awesome Airedales -- Sarah and Tessa. Kim has felt a bit of big-dog jones in the last few months -- a matching Bernese Mountain dog? -- fueled by visits from Seamus (Stephanie and Jeremy's Irish Wolfhound puppy that's already the size of Montreal) and a good hard think about adopting precious Ruby. But in the end we're looking to stay small..

One of the perks of Trudy's operation is that the kids like to see her dogs somewhat regularly. Maizy even got to spend a couple afternoons this summer with Trudy and another neighbor girl (pictured) apprenticing in dog grooming -- this is the critical ear-brushing and blowdrying phase.

Trudy is a super-careful breeder and this last summer we thought long and hard about maybe taking one of these guys, but the timing was nuts. Here you can see Lulu menacing a nonplussed little dude with a green hairbrush -- the blue facepaint was from a stint at KidiMu..

This was Lucy later in the day when Maizy changed the channel away from Wonder Pets. And you think I'm kidding..

OK, back to work.. Hey look, the little guys are wrasslin' now!

Oh, what wonderful little puppies. Don't they just fill you with a'hot-chocolate-with marshmallows' feeling?

Gut busting laughter....at "Lucy later in the day" joke. Thank you for that and congratulations on the newest addition to the family. Mark and I are waiting for our temp family card invite. He'd like to make you a steak when the holidays calm way down and we've all lost the 49 pounds we gained. The other day, he and I cleaned the Jetta with great care. Still love it.
